Faith takes patience. Things hoped for do not always come immediately. Faith also takes trust, in Allah who knows our every desire before we even speaks it. But most importantly, it takes knowledge of Allah’s Book. The faith of a Muslim woman is powerful. Even in her darkest hour, she can stand, knowing that Allah will fulfill His promises in her life. Allah promises strength for the faint of heart, mercy for the weak, forgiveness for the repentant, protection for the vulnerable. Because Allah is Faithful, every Muslim woman can rest knowing that she has put her faith in Someone Who will never disappoint her.
The Prophet (s.a.w) said, “Allah the Most Exalted said, ‘I am as My servant thinks (expects) I am. I am with her when she mentions Me. If she thinks of me alone, I remember her; and if she mentions Me among her friends, I mention her before the Angles. If she draws near to Me a hand’s length, I draw near to her an arm’s length. And if she comes to Me walking, I go to her at speed.’” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
Ibn Hajar said, in reference to this Hadith Qudsi that “it means, Allah is able to do whatever His servants expect from Him.” [Fath al-Bari]
Imam Nawawi said: “The scholars say that expecting the best of Allah is to expect that He will have Mercy His servants and relieve them of hardship.” [Sharh Sahih Muslim]
