A spiritual exercise for the last 10 nights

Alhamdulillah the last 10 nights of Ramadan are here. Shaykh Alaa Elsayed says, "Allah made the last 10 nights the crown of all the nights. He made Layl al Qadr the Jewel of this crown." In these nights you
 either win or lose - Shaykh Moutasem al-Hameedy says, "you can either get a lifetime of reward (83 years) or get nothing at all."

The main goal to achieve in the last 10 nights is  Allah's forgiveness. The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) told Aisha to ask for Allah's forgiveness during Layl al Qadr,

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

(O Allah, indeed you are the One who pardons, indeed you *love* to pardon. So please pardon me)

One of the things that I learned from Shaykh Omar Suleiman is to constantly do towbah and istighfaar  for my sins. He recommended "for every one of the last 10 nights, choose a sin or bad characteristic that you would like to change. Each night give 30 mins to doing nothing but asking Allah for forgiveness for that sin and expressing your resolve to change it. Make a strong commitment each of these 10 nights to change something about yourself. There is nothing more beloved to Allah than repentance, and you will not achieve anything greater in this month than His forgiveness."

أََللّٰهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِىْ حُبَّكَ، وَحُبَّ مَنْ يَّنْفَعُنِىْ حُبُّهُ عِنْدَكَ، أَللّٰهُمَّ مَا رَزَقْتَنِىْ مِمَّا اُحِبُّ فَاجْعَلْهُ قُوَّةً لِّىْ فِيْمَا تُحِبُّ، أَللّٰهُمَّ مَا زَوَيْتَ عَنِّىْ مِمَّا أُحِبُّ فَاجْعَلْهُ فَرَاغًا لِّىْ فِيْمَا تُحِّبُ

O Allah! Grant me Your love and the love of those whose love will help me draw nearer to You. O Allah! Whatever You have provided me of that which I love, then make it a means to strengthen me for that which You love. O Allah! And what You have kept from me of that which I love then make it a means for me to be free for that which You love. (aameen)
