Summary of
JUZ"7"
From
Surah ALMAIDA and Surah ALANAM:
Surah Al Maidah:
·
Ayah
83: Some of the People of the Book cry when they hear the recitation of the Qur’an.
-This
quality necessitates a heart which is devoid of arrogance.
Do
you follow the truth? Or do you follow your version of the truth which fits
your lifestyle?
-To
truly experience faith, to be genuinely moved to tears when you hear the
recitation of the Qur’an: put aside all your preconceived notions and
philosophies on life. Approach the Qur’an as if your mind is a blind slate.
·
Ayah
87: Allah has legislated certain things to be pure – in terms of food, actions,
relations, persons etc.
Do
not interchange the pure for the filth. Allah does not love those break the red
light (limits/laws of Allah)
·
Ayah
88: Taqwa and halal rizq are some of the prerequisites of belief in Allah.
·
Ayah
89: How to make up for broken promises?
-One
of the most important aspects of Islam is keeping one’s promises. Allah has
emphasized its essentiality over 2500 in the Qur’an. The Prophet Muhammad
(s.a.w) said, a believer can be a coward and he can be stingy, but a believer
can never be a liar (someone who breaks his promise).
-In
case a person broke her promise, she must:
(a) feed 10 poor persons on a scale of the average of that with which
she feeds her own family
(b)
clothe 10 people
(c)free
a slave / free a person from debt
(d) if anyone cannot afford the above then she
must fast for 3 days
-Allah
will hold us accountable for our promises.
·
Ayah
90: The Handiwork of Shaytan
-All
kinds of intoxicant: destroys a person’ intellect and health, faith, family and
wealth
-All
kinds of gambling and lottery: devastates the socioeconomic system of a
society. People are addicted to making easy money, the process of seeking
education and getting a job, even providing and protecting the family is tarnished.
-Ansaab
= drawing arrows/lots or sacrificing at alters or graves to seek luck or
decision: takes one away from Tawheed
·
Ayah
93: Anything that was done in the past is forgiven
-sin
committed in ignorance are forgiven on condition that we devout ourselves to
seeking knowledge (ignorance leads to unintentional sins. However,
intentionally ignoring the obligation of seeking knowledge to correctly
implement one’s Deen is a sin. The Prophet (s.a.w) said, it is obligatory for
every Muslim to learn knowledge (pertaining to her Deen).
-sins
committed in ignorance are forgiven on condition that she fears Allah and keeps
away from the things she has now realized are forbidden. Force of habit is not
an excuse to continue to sin.
-If
a person fears Allah and leaves the mistakes she did in the past, Allah loves
the doers of good.
·
Ayaah
94
-We
will be tested with the things we love. They will literally fall into our hands
only to see if we fear Allah while He is unseen (or if we fear Allah when we
are hidden from public scrutiny).
·
Ayah
95-98: Prohibitions of hunting in condition of Ihram.
-Focus
on worship when in state of ibaadah, repel thoughts of food, work and family
from the mind
·
Ayah
101: Things are the way they are for a reason.
-No
amount of questioning will make it any different, sometimes it will make it
harder. Accept the difficulty from Allah, have hope because Allah is Forgiving
and Forebearing. Whatever happens, He intends good.
·
Ayah
109: The Prophets have no knowledge of what happened after their death.
·
Ayah
116: Esa (a.s) did not teach people to worship him.
SURAH
ALANAM:
·
Ayah
1-14 Attitude of those who refuse the
truth:
-choose
darkness over the light: hold others equal to Allah
-in
doubt regarding the Resurrection. If Allah can create us from clay, when can he
not resurrect us from it?
-not
conscious of Allah. When Allah Sees and Supports life in the heavens and the
earth. How can you conceal anything from Him – whether it is good or bad?
-Turn
away from the proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs and revelation of
Allah. They just don’t want to see, hear or listen.
-Mock
the Qur’an / teachings of the Qur’an – consider it to be a book of
spells/magic, fairytales
-Scoff
the sunnah of Messengers
-Do
not take lesson(or travel in the earth to historical places) from the sins of
the previous generations that destroyed them
-Take
a Wali (helper, protector) other than Allah i.e. polytheists, pagans, idolaters
and disbelievers.
·
Ayah
17: Allah touches you with harm and only Allah can remove it
-stop
blaming other people for your circumstances.
Everything that has happening in your life right now is strictly between
you and Allah (swt).
-Total
reliance upon Allah – people cannot take anything away from your or give you
anything which Allah has not intended.
-Ask
Allah / improve your relationship with Allah
·
Ayah
19: A person has no excuse after the revelation of the Qur’an.
Everything
that we need to know to live a good life and have a good hereafter is mentioned
here in detail. It is our responsibility to learn this Book.
·
Ayah
27: On the Day of Judgement, people will wish to be given another chance at
life to do better.
·
Ayat
28: Allah says, even if people were allowed to redo their lives, they will do
the exact same sins.
If you cannot change yourself now, it does not
matter how many years you get to live and how many times you return back to
life after death, you will not behave any differently IF the Day of Resurrection is not your
bench mark.
The
Prophet (s.a.w) said the smartest person is someone who remembers death. If you
want to straighten out your life, just remember the inevitability of Day of Resurrection.
Prepare for it as if it is going to befall this evening or the next morning.
·
Ayah
31: Losers!
-Those
who didn’t hope to meet Allah, ever!
-Those
who will be carrying the burden of their sins (instead of shedding all that
weight by going on a diet – tawbah, istigfaar).
·
Ayah
32: Life is not fun and games.
-What
more is there to life? Having Taqwa of the One Who made you
·
Ayah
41-45:
-Have
taqwa of Allah with respect to making duaa: when Allah answers your duaa, do
not forget Him and go back to your old lifestyle of heedlessness
-Have
taqwa of Allah when suffering loss of wealth and health: Allah takes away
blessings to make us humble. Turn to Him instead of others for sympathy and
support.
·
Ayah
47-58: Address to the polytheists
·
Ayah
59: ❤
Allah has knowledge of everything, even when a single leaf falls from the tree.
A Believer is never alone.
·
Ayah
60-73: Warning to those who reject faith.
·
Ayah
74-90: Story of Ibrahim (a.s) Blessings
and Gifts for the doers of good...
Rules
of Dawah: Sincerity to Allah, humility towards people
·
Ayah
92: Whoever believes in the Qur’an, confirms faith in the Hereafter and guards
their Salah.
·
Ayah
93: Punishment starts from the moment a person’s soul is taken out of the body
at the time of death
–
affirmation of the realm of Barzakh and punishment of the grave.
·
Ayah
95-99: How will Allah bring people back to life after their death?
-like
when the seed splits, and the plant sprouts from it, Allah will split the earth
and grow the human beings from their tail bone.
-We
witness this miracle every spring and summer, the death earth is revived after
its winter slumber with new life and vegetation.
-Examine
your food, Allah brings out of dirt yet it tastes and looks nothing like the
sand where it was produced. Allah will grow us back from the ground with our
own distinct features, shape and form. It is easy for Allah.
·
Ayah
100-106 : Allah is not like any human or jinn.
Stop
making dead people equal to Allah. When they were alive, they were dependent on
Allah for sustenance, then how can they gain access to Allah’s powers after
death? Allah has no need of partners.
·
Ayah108:
Everybody thinks their religion and/or their sect is the best.
There
is no need to be insulting lest others molest your faith.
·
Ayah
110: there
is an expiry date on faith and guidance.
Allah
will take your refusal to believe only for so long. Eventually your eyes and
hurts will be denied access to the truth and you will wonder blindly in
ignorance forever. May Allah save us from this wretched end aameen.
