Brief Summary of JUZ 8
·
Ayah 111-117: Allah has distributed His guidance equally to all humanity
– every person will eventually,
at some point in their life, hear of the right guidance. The Prophet Muhammad
(s.a.w) said, Islam will reach the doorstep of every person before the Day of
Judgement
Allah Knows who are the followers of guidance and who are the followers
of desires.
Guidance is a very interpersonal relationship with Allah – it is not
something that we do for our family or for money. It is something that we have
in our heart, that we live by everyday not for anyone else’s sake but our own.
Guidance is the bench mark we hold ourselves up to.
·
Ayah 118-121: One of the prerequisite of faith is to eat only the meat
on which Allah’s Name has been pronounced.
We boycott certain dinner parties because we have had a disagreement
with the host.
We boycott certain products because their manufacturers support certain
governments. Why not boycott the foods which are dedicated to gods others than
Allah? We take insult against our personal self and against our political
beliefs more seriously than the insult against Allah?
·
Ayah 122: The quality of a believer is that she carries the light of guidance
with her
-where she goes, she illuminates the minds of others. The world is a
better place because of her.
·
Ayah 125: Ask Allah for a big heart.
If Allah wants to guide someone to Islam, Allah opens their heart or
expands their heart for the Deen.
·
Ayah 128: Allah will ask an assembly of jinn why did they mislead
humans.
The humans will reply that the humans benefited from interacting with
the Jinn.
Allah will inform that their Hellfire is their dwelling place.
How many relations and interactions (or transactions) we have on a daily
basis for the purpose of financial or emotional benefit yet they are
displeasing Allah. Leave them now before Hell becomes our home.
·
Ayah 136-144: The polytheists dedicated certain animals and a portion of
their produce to their idols
– i.e., they split the ears of their cattle, allow women to eat only
certain animals etc.
All of these laws of sacrifice and charity are fictitious, they have no
basis in Islam.
·
Ayah 151 -153: 10 Commandments for the Ummah of Muhammad (s.a.w)
-do not join anything in worship with Allah
-be good to your parents
-do not kill your children out of fear of poverty
-do not come near indecency and immodesty
- do not kill (except under Islamic law)
·
Ayah 160: The reward of a good deed is multiplied 10x while an evil deed
still counts as only 1 sin.
Allah wants to make it easy for us to go to Jannah, granted we do not procrastinate
and become lazy in doing good
·
Ayah 162: ❤: My living and my dying for Rabbul Aalameen❤
·
Ayah
163: The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) was commanded to call himself a Muslim.
Surah Al'Araaf:1-87
·
Ayah
10: Allah gave us authority and fulfilled all our physical needs. Alhamdulillah.
·
Ayah
11-25: Story of Creation of Adam and the disobedience of Shaytan
·
Ayah
23: [7:23] They said, “Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You
do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.”
·
Ayah26:
Clothes are an adornment, Allah revealed them for our beautification and
modesty.
-When
we choose something to wear, do we chose fashion or modesty or both?
-eat
and drink, but do not be wasteful. Avoid excess.
·
Ayah
38: People will blame their friends as they are entering Hellfire.
Our
friends are our role models. We subconsciously end up following them, even in
matters of the Deen.
·
Ayah
40: Allah will not open the gates of Jannah for the arrogant.
·
Ayah
43: Duaa of the people when they enter Jannah
·
Ayah
55-56: Call upon Allah with humility, fear and hope
Supplement
duaas with good behaviour (Salah, Recitation of the Qur’an, an act of charity
etc)
The
quality of Muflihoon (successful) is sabiqoon (they race to do good deeds –
they initiate the good work and put in a lot of effort even if no one else
supports them).
·
Ayah
60-78: Nuh, Hud, Suleh, Lut and Shuaib (a.s) were sabiqoon.
